When they met Jared and Miriam lived 2,500 miles apart, but, during her visits to Portland Jared taught Miriam how to brew beer. The plane rides were exciting but they wanted to be closer so they moved in together in Brooklyn. They now brew in Philadelphia using quality home-brewing equipment lent by their friend Sean, the head brewer at the award-winning brewery in Portland, The Commons. The name Aeroplane is a reference to the method of transportation they used to see eachother and their favorite album, which, happens to be In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. Jared is the head brewer and Miriam is the creative director at Aeroplane Brewing Co.
Every batch of beer is named after a place or memory that inspired the brewers. All batches are crafted with grain, hops, love & the adventurous spirit.
